It was built next to the German Evangelical Church in 1825-1835 on the site of an older church dating from 1715.

The church originally did not have a tower, it was only built in 1866. A stone baptistery has been preserved from the original church. The facades of the church have a neo-Romanesque expression, a tower clock is located above the bell openings of the tower.
