Red Bastion
The bastion forms a dominant feature of the southern part of the city fortifications. The originally cylindrical four-story tower from 1610-1646 was situated on the highest point of the castle wall. It allowed a good view of the entire surroundings, including access roads to the gates to the city. Its main importance lay in the function of the lookout tower, because its defensive ability was not high. After the renovation in 1994, the Ignác Bizmayer Gallery of National Artist was established there.
